The NGCP lifted Luzon Grid’s ''Red Alert'' notice today, effective 1646H. However, Luzon Grid is still under ''Yellow Alert'' for intervals 1700H-2100H.
The actions being undertaken by the DOE are as follows:
A. SUPPLY SIDE MANAGEMENT
1. The DOE met with the power plants that are on forced outage earlier today to coordinate the immediate actions to be made for them to be synchronized back into the grid.
2. The DOE will meet with Sual plant managers tomorrow, because they were not able to attend the meeting earlier today.
3. The DOE also met with MERALCO, as well as TMO and MEI to facilitate the requirements for tapping these generators to supply the required capacity and voltage regulation requirements within the MERALCO franchise area. The coordination with the NGCP and the IEMOP is also being undertaken.
B. IMPROVING THE LINES
4. DOE is also coordinating the efforts of MERALCO and NGCP in improving the power lines that will improve efficiency of the delivery of power to the customers.
C. DEMAND SIDE MANAGEMENT
5. DOE has called a coordination meeting with the Interruptible Load Program (ILP) participants on Monday.
6. The energy efficiency campaign will be enhanced and the information education campaign for the RE and ICT components are being pursued with the academe. There will be a press conference in Ateneo de Manila tomorrow, which coincides with the Blue Legacy Innovation for Energy challenge. DOE is a partner in this activity.
