DOE - CLARK DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION LAUNCH SOLAR-ASSISTED EV CHARGING STATION

The Department of Energy (DOE), through its Energy Utilization Management Bureau (EUMB), today turned over to Clark Development Corporation (CDC) a Solar-Assisted EV Charging Station (EVCS).

The Solar Photovoltaic System with EVCS, is a project implemented in partnership with the Philippine National Oil Company Renewables Corporation (PNOC RC) and the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) under the Government Energy Management Program (GEMP), which aims to improve energy efficiency and promote the use of renewable energy in the public sector.

Strategically located in Clark, the EVCS bridges Metro Manila with Northern Luzon and addresses a critical infrastructure gap for electric vehicles. The EVCS showcases the government’s leadership in mainstreaming e-mobility solutions while reducing fossil fuel use and greenhouse gas emissions. Beyond its environmental impact, the Project is also expected to generate savings in fuel consumption.

EUMB Director Patrick T. Aquino, CESO III led the turnover ceremony together with Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera, President and CEO of CDC, and Mr. John James V. Salvo, OIC Vice President for Operations, PNOC Renewables Corporation.

To date, a total of 1,062 EVCS are installed in various facilities, and two (2) additional EVCS were also installed under the project: DOE—Luzon Field Office in Rosales, Pangasinan and Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) in Subic Bay Freeport Zone, marking a significant stride in the government's ongoing transition to clean energy and sustainable transport solutions.

The DOE continues to pursue initiatives to enhance EEC within the public sector and collaborate with partner national agencies and local stakeholders to demonstrate the viability of clean, efficient, and reliable energy solutions.

The EVCS is located in Clark Museum Parking Lot in Clark Freeport Zone.
