The Department of Energy through the Consumer Welfare and Promotion Office together with the Visayas Field Office successfully conducts its Consumer Connect seminar with selected barangay officials and employees of Roxas City on March 26, 2025 at the San Antonio Resort, Roxas City.
The activity covers topics specifically designed for energy consumers focusing on net metering, LPG and Liquid Petroleum Products buying and safety tips, rights and responsibilities of residential electricity consumers, among others. Resource persons for this activity were experts from the DOE-VFO and the Capiz Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CAPELCO).
Roxas City Environmental Planner Mr. Arnold Alarcon Jr. highlighted in his welcome remarks the importance of energy in our daily lives and the significance of the energy sector in nationwide development. He also emphasized the value of saving energy and knowing about other EEC alternatives among their constituents to help the environment for a bigger, better and brighter Roxas City.
The participants were happy to know about their rights as electricity consumers and promised to relay the information to their respective groups. Some participants even shared their takeaways on the event such as the tipid tips, safety measures in buying/using LPG and hopes for another related information campaign in the future.
The activity culminates with the pledge of commitment by the participants to be barangay ambassadors who will serve as advocates in providing crucial information on energy to their respective constituents.
