Brief Description :

  • · On October 25, 2004, Administrative Order 110 “Directing the Institutionalization of a Government Energy Management Program” (GEMP) was approved by the President.

  • · The aim of GEMP is to reduce the monthly consumption of electricity (in kilowatt-hours) and petroleum products (in liters) of all national and local governments by at least ten percent (10 %).

  • · The bench mark used in the computation of monthly savings is the average monthly consumption from January to June 2004 for electricity and the average monthly consumption from January to June 2005 for fuel.

The awardees are selected based on the percent savings generated in electricity (kWh) and fuel (liters) from September 2005 to August 2006 and the result of the spot check.

The Department of Energy got the highest score of 95.7 percent.
